{"id":2043,"date":"2017-11-10T07:30:25","date_gmt":"2017-11-10T07:30:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/incomgroup.es\/?p=2043"},"modified":"2017-11-19T16:46:47","modified_gmt":"2017-11-19T16:46:47","slug":"dutch-electric-trains-get-100-powered-by-wind-energy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/incomgroup.es\/en\/dutch-electric-trains-get-100-powered-by-wind-energy\/","title":{"rendered":"Dutch Electric Trains Get 100% Powered by Wind Energy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>According to the national railway company NS, its renewables\u00a0goal had been met a year earlier than planned, since from the 1st of\u00a0 January, 100% of\u00a0its trains are running on wind energy\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Dutch electricity company Eneco won a tender offered by NS two years ago and the two companies signed a 10-year deal setting January 2018 as the date by which all NS trains should run on wind energy.<\/p>\n<p>The fact that it is been an increase in the nomber of wind farms across the contry and off the coast of the Netherlands had helped achieve its aim a year earlier than planned.<\/p>\n<p>This fact makes the Netherlands the first country in the world to have\u00a0 around 600,000 passengers daily\u00a0that travel propelled by\u00a0wind energy. Overall, the NS operates about 5,500 train trips a day.<\/p>\n<p>So as to allow you\u00a0to have\u00a0an idea of\u00a0what\u00a0it is\u00a0like, one windmill running for an hour is able to power a train for 120 miles, the companies said.
